Pope Francis surprised people again by visiting a group of pilgrims from Cuba. The meeting was not on the agenda. The pope arrived at the end of the Mass the Cuban pilgrims were participating in. His presence generated a lot of excitement.
Pope Francis visited Cuba in 2016 but the country is still very reserved about religious freedom. Only about 400 Cubans have been able to travel to Panama to participate in WYD, a number that for the country is its maximum historically.
