Pope Francis did not overlook the tragedy in Indonesia during the last Angelus prayer before Christmas.
In a sorrowful gesture he asked to pray for the victims and the displaced.
POPE FRANCIS
“My appeal is that these brothers and sisters will not lack our solidarity and the support of the international community. Let us pray together.”
In view of the arrival of Christmas, Pope Francis gave one last piece of advice: to not be self-referenced but at the service of others.
POPE FRANCIS
“May the Virgin Mary obtain for us the grace to live an 'extroverted' Christmas, not dispersed, but extroverted. Let not our 'I' be at the center, but the You of Jesus and the you of our brothers and sisters, especially those who need help.”
The pope recalled that Christmas is a time to be with the family and he remembered all those who cannot return home at this time.
