The pope recalled during the Angelus prayer that All Saints' Day has a unique and special importance for the Church.
Ordinary saints are not so much remembered as famous ones because they are not known. Many of them are those whom Pope Francis defines as “next door” saints, the everyday Holy people.

“Today is a family feast. The saints are close to us, in fact, they are true brothers and sisters. They understand us, they love us, they know what we really need.”
The pope said that this feast is a good occasion for Catholics to ask themselves if they really want to be saints.

“Do we live for the Lord or for ourselves, for eternal happiness or to receive now some satisfactions? Let us ask ourselves: do we really want holiness?”
All Saints' Day is one of the great solemnities of the Catholic Church. It is the beginning of a month dedicated to praying especially for the deceased.
