In this is the cordial greeting between Pope Francis and Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians. They spent a few minutes in private demonstrating, once again, the good understanding between the Catholic Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
After the traditional exchange of gifts, came the photographs. Then the two said farewell, in a very affectionate way.
'May our prayer be with you.'
The last time Pope Francis met with Karekin II was in April. He was in the Vatican gardens for the inauguration of this statue of St. Gregory of Narek, declared a doctor of the Church by Pope Francis in 2015.
