In spite of the Roman rain, thousands of people attended the pope's Angelus, in which he spoke about marriage and family difficulties.

POPE FRANCIS
“The original plan of the Creator does not consist in the man marrying the woman and if things do not go well, he gets rid of her. No. It is about the man and the woman who are called to recognize each other, to complete each other, to help each other in marriage.”
“If, on the other hand, the individual interest of the spouses and their own satisfaction prevails, then their union cannot withstand the difficulties.”

He also explained that the Church, in addition to helping couples to live their marriage, must help those in difficulty.

POPE FRANCIS
“Wounded love can be healed by God through mercy and forgiveness. Therefore, the Church, in these situations, is not asked for immediate condemnation. On the contrary, in the face of so many painful marital failures, she feels called to live her presence of love, charity and mercy in order to give back to God the wounded and lost hearts.”

In addition, the pope asked Catholics to pray the Rosary every day during this month of October. This includes the prayer to the Blessed Mother “Under your protection;” and the prayer to the St. Michael the Archangel, he explained, “to reject the attacks of the devil, who wants to divide the Church.”
