The Bishops from Scotland greeted Pope Francis during their ad limina visit.
“Thank you, I'm Philip Tartaglia, president of the conference. We have met a couple times.”
Each of the bishops from the bishops' conference greeted Pope Francis one-by-one.
Then the Scottish bishops all sat down in a circle with Pope Francis to talk. According to the Scottish Catholic Observer, they planned to discuss the abuse crisis within the Church. Then, they all prayed together with the Holy Father.
The men will be in Rome until October 4, participating in meetings with various congregations and dicasteries within the Vatican.
Their last ad limina visit was with Pope Benedict in February 2010, just seven months before the pope emeritus visited the UK from September 16-19.
