Lithuania looks forward to Pope Francis' visit to their country and this is one of the examples. A group of young Lithuanians released a song solely for the pope.

The author of the song, David Hedin, is Swiss although he lives in Lithuania, where he recently converted to Catholicism.

“When the pope is coming you have thousands of people volunteering in different capacities and they're a part of a growth process and experience and empowerment and that also gives hope, right? So maybe that is one thing that can come from this meeting. That the pope will inspire people's lives and they'll think, 'we did something good that one time, maybe we can do something more.'”

David says the most difficult thing when composing the song was for it to not have a message open to misinterpretation and for it to always transmit joy and hope.

“We want it to be like a gift for him. When he comes to meet the youth he will see 23,000 young people singing 'Christ Jesus, My Hope' with every generation of the Church.”

This will be the soundtrack of the pope's trip to Lithuania. It is a good first step to return joy and hope to a country heavily punished during its history by totalitarian regimes.
