Pope Francis welcomed Paulino Domingos Baptista, the new ambassador from Angola, for the presentation of his credentials.
Baptista was accompanied by his extended family, including his two precious granddaughters, who are apparently already well-versed in formal greetings.
The ambassador's wife was also visibly moved upon meeting the Holy Father.
Baptista previously served as his country's minister of tourism. The 67-year-old now represents a nation of more than 10 million Catholics.
