The Vatican spokesman, Greg Burke, announced in a press release that Pope Francis will be in Panama from January 23-27, 2019.
This officially confirms the pope's participation in World Youth Day. It will be the third of his papacy, following those of Brazil and Poland.
At the previous World Youth Day, the organization estimated an attendance between two and three million pilgrims.
