Pope Francis will once again spend his summer holidays at the Vatican.

The month of July is a time of rest, as the Holy Father will not receive any official guests or give his weekly catechesis during the General Audience.

His only public appearances in Rome will be on Sundays, when he prays the Angelus at noon.

The pope only has two official events during the month. The first is a conference on his encyclical Laudato si' on July fifth.

Then, on July 7, the pope will travel to Bari, where he has convened an ecumenical prayer encounter with Christian leaders from the Middle East. There, they will pray for a peaceful end to the many wars and conflicts in the region.

For the remainder of the month, Pope Francis will take advantage of an opportunity to work in the tranquility of his home.
