The pope's General Audience was the final destination for a trip in celebration of a very special anniversary: 70 years as a parish. These Spaniards ventured out on a five-day journey, with St. Peter's Square as their last stop.

“Starting with Assisi, then on to Siena, and we arrived in Rome two days ago. We're finishing it off with the Audience today.”

This group comes from Las Rozas, a community of Madrid. Their main goal was seeing Pope Francis, and the only thing they regret is not getting closer to him.

“It was wonderful, I imagined it being spectacular, but it seemed short. It was honestly fantastic. He's a pope who, without changing the essence of the doctrine, makes it relatable to people of today. There's a reason for everything he says.”

“Seeing him so close was impressive, because you always see him on TV. It was very cool. It was hot, but that didn't stop the excitement.”

In good spirits and with smiles on their faces, they didn't lower their flag in the square, and they're already dreaming of coming back to celebrate their 75th anniversary.
