The Holy Father discussed their mission in the region with them, and they updated him on the work being carried out in their respective countries.
The bishops presented the pope with this gilded carving of Jesus on the cross.
Pope Francis then blessed a tray of special items from the region before writing the bishops a heartfelt message on a group portrait.
