Pope Francis met with an International Journalism Award delegation'Biagio Agnes,' which honors one of the most notorious Italian journalists.
It was the journalist's daughter and the president of the foundation who greeted the pope, after explaining the difficulties journalist's face.
POPE FRANCIS
'With this award you indicate to society those journalists who are distinguished by responsibility in the exercise of their profession. Indeed, being a journalist relates to the formation of people, their vision of the world and their attitudes when facing events.'
The pope explained that he has even noticed when traveling how journalism has changed. For example, it is now possible to make a program from a smartphone without having to rely on teleoperators.
He gave them three keys to practice in their profession: periphery, truth and hope. Share the stories of the most forgotten people; state the facts as they are, and not based on personal opinions; and share the problems of the world, from a responsible point of view that invites everyone to have hope.
