During the Sunday Regina Coeli, Pope Francis reflected on the Solemnity of the Ascension, saying the feast “urges us to look to the sky and fulfill the tasks Christ entrusts to us.”

POPE FRANCIS
“The Ascension of the Lord to heaven, inaugurates a new form of Jesus' presence in our midst. It asks us to have eyes and a heart to meet Him, to serve Him and to witness Him to others.”

He also spoke about “fake news” on the World Day of Social Communications, greeting those journalists who seek the truth.

POPE FRANCIS
“I greet all the media agents, in particular, the journalists who are committed to seeking the truth of the news, contributing to a just and peaceful society.”

He then sent a powerful message, condemning the suicide attacks targeting three Catholic churches in Indonesia. More than 40 people were hospitalized with injuries and at least 13 killed.

POPE FRANCIS
“I lift up my prayer for the victims and their relatives. Together we invoke the God of peace to stop these violent actions, and instill feelings of reconciliation and fraternity, instead of hatred and violence.”

Pope Francis also made sure to greet all mothers on Mother's Day, asking everyone to thank them for guarding the family.
