Pope visits shelter for convicted women living in semi-detention with their children

Pope Francis made again a Friday mercy visit. He went to “Casa di Leda”, a home in Rome’s EUR district where women convicted of minor criminal offenses serves their sentences alongside their children.

Pope Francis spoke with the five women and gave to their the children some Easter eggs.

According to the Vatican, the house was formerly owned by persons linked to organized crime. Seized by the State authorities, it was transformed into a haven for women in difficulty.
