Pope Francis met with Maronite seminarians and priests. They're from Lebanon and study in Rome. The pope told them their mission is preparing to sow peace in the Middle East. Their country serves as an example of peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims.

POPE FRANCIS
“You all, in a special way, are called to serve everyone as brothers, above all feeling like everyone's brothers. Supporting each other using what you've learned, act so that Lebanon always practices its vocation as a light for the region's people and a sign of peace that comes from God.”

In addition, Pope Francis asked them to cultivate a life of prayer and ambitious internal struggle, to put themselves truly at the service of those who need their help. As a memento, they presented the Holy Father with a scuplture of Saint Maron made of Lebanese cedar that contains one of the saint's relics.
