In preparation of his upcoming trip to Chile and Peru, Pope Francis released a video message for the people of both nations. In it, he expressed his desire to “experience the peace that comes from God” and assured them of his closeness. The Holy Father also issued a warning.

“The culture of rejection continues to invade us more and more. I want to be a part of your joy, your sadness, your difficulties and hopes and to tell you you're not alone. The pope is with you, the whole Church welcomes you, the Church sees you.”
Pope Francis will visit Chile and Peru from Monday, January 15 to Sunday, January 21. He will visit six cities on his first trip of 2018.
