“Thank you so much. Welcome.”
On the last day of his papal visit to Myanmar and Bangladesh, Pope Francis was greeted warmly by staff and residents of the Mother Teresa House in Dhaka.
First, the pope blessed a shrine of the Holy Mother with holy water. The memorial was erected in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Marian Apparitions in Fatima.
Later, a number of the house's sick adult residents humbly received Pope Francis' blessing.
As the grateful songs continued, the pope spread his joy to the children, many of whom had severe illnesses.
Finally, accompanied by four precious little girls, Pope Francis made his way to a portrait of Mother Teresa, who founded the Dhaka home in the early 1970s to care for unwed mothers and the sick and impoverished. The pope prayed in front of the image before bestowing his final blessing of the visit.
