Like every Sunday, Pope Francis reflected on the Gospel of the day. This time he recalled that the Christian, as a citizen, cannot separate from his civil obligations.
POPE FRANCIS
'The Christian is called to commit himself concretely to human and social realities without opposing 'God' and 'Caesar': to oppose God and Caesar would be a fundamentalist attitude.'
The pope called on those present to reflect on another question... who is a priority in their lives? God or the world.
POPE FRANCIS
'Jesus takes, from the question posed by the Pharisees, a question more radical and vital for each one of us. It is a question that we can ask ourselves: who do I belong to?'
At the end, Pope Francis asked for prayers for Kenya. He recalled the 109 martyrs beatified in Barcelona and prayed for Christians around the world who are suffering persecution.
