Before going to St. Peter's Square for his weekly catechesis, the pope met with these 30 priests from China.
They belong to Congregatio discipulorum Domini, founded by Cardinal Celso Costantini in 1927.
This cardinal was the first apostolic delegate in China and his process of beatification will begin on Monday.
He founded China's first religious congregation and it soon spread throughout the continent.
Distance and political difficulties can sometimes make it difficult to maintain one's faith. That is why, for them, being able to stand before the pope filled them with emotion. Some even prayed during the meeting.
'For you, Your Holiness, we pray every day after lunch and after dinner in our community.'
Before concluding the meeting and receiving the pope's blessing, the priests ended the visit with this heartfelt song.
