Injustice does not have the last word, because the Christian hopes in Christ, who has overcome all injustice and even death.

This was the message of hope Pope Francis transmitted in his weekly catechesis. A Christian, he said, looks at the world with more than just optimism.

POPE FRANCIS
'Our hope is not just optimism. It is something else. It's more. It is as if believers were people with 'a piece of Heaven' above their heads. Injustice does not have the last word in life.'

Pope Francis especially mentioned those who suffer injustice and persecution for their faith in places like the Middle East. He dedicated these comforting words to them.

POPE FRANCIS
'Let us think of our brothers and sisters from the Middle East who bear witness to hope and who also offer their lives for it. These are true Christians. They carry Heaven in their hearts, they look beyond, always beyond.'

At the end of the audience, the pope announced that in March young people will gather in the Vatican. They will be believers and non-believers from all over the world and they will participate in a preparatory meeting for the next Synod of Bishops. The theme of the Synod is 'Youth, Faith and Vocation Discernment' and will be held in October 2018.
