The World Meeting Of Families to be held in 2018 in Dublin, Ireland is now less than a year away and the country of Ireland celebrated by kicking off the countdown with a Mass and other family events on the Feast day of Our Lady of Knock.

“We're here because I suppose family matters to us, and we're really looking forward to the celebration of the World Meeting of Families in Dublin next year. What I got out of today would be I guess it's wonderful to see so many people here and quite a representative across many different people and it seemed quite a mix of cultures and backgrounds and that was interesting.”

During the kickoff, they also revealed the official prayer, which asks that God “protect all families.” The official icon was also displayed, which showcases the Holy Family.

This year, they are inviting all to prepare for this World Meeting of Families with a program they call “Amoris: Let's Talk Family! Let's be Family!” It is based on Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis' ideas on the family and it is meant to help all throughout the world seek out and find the joys of living in a family.

With only a year left to prepare for this potential papal visit to their country next August, the archdiocese is hoping these programs, materials and their theme song will help welcome families from all over the globe experience the joy family life can bring to the world.
