With this ceremony, the investigative phase of the canonization process has officially closed for Opus Dei member Dora del Hoyo, during a ceremony in Rome with Bishop Javier Echevarria.
MSGR. JAVIER ECHEVARRíA
Prelate of Opus Dei
'Dora was a very feminine woman with a strong personality. She was a very good and serious professional woman. She was very respectful and attentive to all people, and she loved everyone a lot. She prayed sincerely, from her heart every day.â?
The ceremony presented materials gathered about Dora's life, virtues and reputation for holiness.
Now, they will send the documents to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints of the Holy See who will then decide if the testimonies pose enough evidence to continue with the process.
MSGR. MIGUEL íNGEL ORTIZ
Promoter of Justice
'She was a person dedicated to God, with only one goal: to serve others, struggling with her limitations, with the help of grace.â?
LILIAN MUDIMBA
'She loved to do the things to the smallest detail and she took care of the all the small details.â?
However, the process of Dora being declared a saint will be a very long one, as the Vatican is currently studying around 400 other cases that have been brought to their attention. The speed of the process also can be influenced if the devotion to Dora del Hoyo rapidly increases over the next few months or years.
