The pope's week begins on Monday as he sets his sights on Colombia, where a peace agreement between the government and the FARC rebels will be signed after 50 years of armed conflict. Pope Francis sent the Secretary of State for the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, to show Vatican's support for the Colombian people at this important time in its history.
On Monday, the Vatican also discloses the details of the pope's upcoming international trip to Georgia and Azerbaijan. He will leave on Friday and return on Sunday.
Until then, the pope does not plan on holding any large meetings, except the traditional Wednesday General Audience and morning Mass at his home in Casa Santa Marta.
Either way, the pope will also be mindful of the upcoming General Congregation of the Jesuits which starts on Sunday, where the election of ;the successor to the current Superior General, Adolfo Nicolás will take place.
