This morning, Pope Francis received the Belgian ambassador to the Holy See Jean Cornet d'Elzius, former adviser to King Philip of Belgium and until now ambassador to Tel Aviv.
The Pope spoke in French although he made a small confession.
POPE FRANCIS
'I have forgotten how to speak French.'
Pope Francis handed him a copy of the most important works of his pontificate in French. In addition to the prepared gifts, he asked one of his assistants to bring another rosary over to one of his relatives.
Pope Francis said goodbye in French, to the relatives of the ambassador. They did not leave without assuring him that they will pray for him.
