The two most senior members of the Swiss Guard and the Vatican gendarmerie carried the Jubilee cross together as they passed through the Holy Door.
All law enforcement agents from the military and police branch were present and in their uniforms, as they commenced their pilgrimage to the St. Peter's Basilica. ;
For a few hours, they put aside their rivalries to obtain the Jubilee indulgence. ;
