Pope Francis joined thousands of pilgrims in Mass to celebrate the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland. While there, he prayed before the famous Black Madonna of Czestochowa at the Jasna Gora Monastery, which has become a revered symbol of Poland. ;
Many faithful from all the world have attributed ;miracles to this icon. The Icon is still a recognizable sign of the Polish people living in many places around the world. ;
Pope Francis' predecessors, both John Paul II and Benedict XVI have also visited the shrine.
