Zygmunt Zimowski passed away yesterday evening. He was the Polish president of the Vatican department responsible for giving pastoral guidelines on health.
This humble and smiling Polish archbishop was 67-years-old and served the Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers since 2009.
He had been sick for years. In fact, Pope Francis had recently called him to say that he was praying for him.
He was a strong advocate of life and the dignity of the sick.

Ever since Benedict XVI called him to the Vatican, he worked hard to help priests and nuns care for the sick and organized important meetings on the spiritual care of people with autism, Alzheimer's and the deaf.

He had one of his last speeches before Pope Francis, where he spoke about a fellow countryman named, John Paul II, a Pope that left a profound message in his life in regards to the dignity of the sick.
