During the Sunday Angelus, Pope Francis focused his entire speech on the parable of the Good Samaritan about a man who was robbed and beaten. Two men passed the dying man on the road and did nothing. In contrast, a third man, a native of Samaria, who was despised by the Jews because they didnâ??t observe the true religion, stopped to help him.

'He went to him and bandaged his wounds, brought him to an inn, and took care of him; and the next day put him in the care of the proprietor, paid for it and said he would pay everything else.â?
The Pope reiterated that we must all share the actions and attitude of the Good Samaritan in order to demonstrate our faith.

'It, in its simple and inspiring story, indicates a way of life, whose center of gravity we are not ourselves but others, with their difficulties, we encounter on our journey and that challenge us. Others challenge us. And when others do not challenge, something there is not working; something in that heart is not Christian.â?
The Pope concluded his remarks, from the window of the Apostolic Palace, as he called on
the Blessed Virgin 'to help us to walk along the paths of generous love towards others, the path of the Good Samaritan.â?
