Pope Francis appoints new auxiliary bishops in Paris and Valencia, Spain

Pope Francis has appointed Denis Jachiet and Thibault Verny as the new auxiliary bishops of the Archdiocese of Paris. Arturo Pablo Ros has also been appointed as the new auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Valencia, Spain.

Since 2014, Jachiet has been the vicar general of the cathedral of Paris, while Verny has been dedicated to the diocesan delegation for priestly vocations. Since 2010, the Spaniard Ros was the Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Valencia after being a priest for many years.

In addition, Pope Francis has appointed Oswaldo Patricio Ventimilla of Cuenca, Ecuador, as the new bishop of Azogues in Ecuador.

In Guntur, India, the priest Bhagyaiah Chinnabathini replaced Bishop Gali Bali, who resigned after serving for 75 years.

The Pope has named Roger Houngbedji the new bishop of Cotonou, Benín to replace Antoine Ganye.

Pope Francis has also appointed auxiliary bishop of Ho Chi Minh, Joseph Do Manh Hung.
