'Does the Holy Father wants to pet him ...?

It was an audience unlike any other. Clowns, acrobats, musicians and even a tiger and a panther traveled to the Vatican. The World Circus performers stopped at the Vatican to attend the Jubilee and offer this show to the Pope.

It all started with the Black Blues Brothers from Kenya, who won the crowd over with a lot of rhythm and acrobatics. The show ended with clowns and circus animals. Making this a truly, unique experience for those witnessing.

POPE FRANCIS
'You are doing great things. You are artisans of the party, of wonder, of all things that are beautiful.

The Pope said that this event could not be missed during the Jubilee of Mercy: a day when circus performers are able to sow a smile to the world.

POPE FRANCIS
'You sow this seed of joy. A seed that does so much good to so many people that you may not have known. Be assured, you are really doing this. Thank you. Thank you.

He asked them to have God's presence with them on their travels and not to neglect their faith, despite the itinerant life that they lead. He told them to continue doing performance shows for people in need.

POPE FRANCIS
'This is also what it means to have mercy: to plant beauty and joy into a world that is sometimes dark and sad. Thank you, a heartfelt thanks.

After the audience, the Pope tenderly greeted an ill attendee at Paul VI Hall and many of the performers. Some could not avoid the temptation to take several 'selfies.

And as in other meetings, the Pope did not show any signs of being in a hurry. He took his time and greeting people, by shaking hands and getting hugs for more than 20 minutes. It was one of the most heartfelt encounters of the Jubilee.
