Nigerian Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie turns 80, thus he loses his right to vote in future conclaves and leaves the number of voters to 112 cardinals.

Cardinal Okogie was named bishop of Mascula by Paul VI in 1971, and two years later became Archbishop of Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria, a position he held until 2012. He has also presided over the Nigerian Bishops' Conference.

Anthony Okogie has been a cardinal since 2003, when he was named by John Paul II. He has participated in the conclaves that elected both Benedict and Francis.
