This week, Pope Francis will probably meet with two people, who a few years ago were very critical of the Vatican and even of Pope Francis.
On Monday, the Pope will meet with the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Ahmed Al Tayeb. It is the reference center for Sunni and in 2011 it broke off relations with the Vatican when Benedict XVI called for protection of Christians in Egypt and the Middle East.
The Pope's schedule continues on Wednesday with the general audience for thousands of pilgrims in St. Peter's Square.
The following day, Thursday, is a holiday in the Vatican. Corpus Christi will be celebrated and the Pope will preside at a Mass in the cathedral of Rome, San Giovanni in Laterano, at 7:00 p.m. Then he will make an Eucharistic procession to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
On Friday, the Pope is scheduled to meet with a woman who insulted him intensely in 2007. Hebe de Bonafini is the president of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in Argentina, which unites mothers whose children disappeared during the dictatorship of Jorge Videla.
During the weekend, the Jubilee of Deacons will be celebrated, which includes a Mass with the Pope on Sunday in Saint Peter's. In addition, that same day, at noon, Pope Francis will end the week with the Angelus prayer.
