The Pope has asked for the commitment of six new ambassadors to the Holy See to listen to and act as the voice of refugees and immigrants.

He said it is necessary to have a united diplomatic effort to end the violence. He also called for respect in the challenge of welcoming and integrating refugees.

POPE FRANCIS
'Many people tend to isolate themselves against the harshness of reality. They are afraid of terrorism and that the increasing flow of migrants radically changes its culture, its economic stability and its lifestyle. FLASH. 'We have to work together in an efficient and coordinated manner, encouraging members of our communities to become peacemakers themselves.

Pope Francis said that fear is understandable and that the complexity of the problem should be tackled with wisdom and compassion, because they must respect the rights of all, those who are arriving and those who are receiving the refugees.

He said it is necessary to respect the identity of migrants, but at the same time, host populations should not lose their own culture.

The six new ambassadors come from Zambia, Namibia, Seychelles, Thailand, Estonia and Malawi.
