'Blessed are the Merciful, for it is mercy that shall be shown to those who show mercy.â?
These are the words that will resound throughout Krakow this July, when over 2 million people will flood the city to pray and experience Christ with Pope Francis.
This song has been translated from Polish to over 40 languages, including a special video with sign language for the hearing-impaired.

'We know that a lot of people suffer with some problems and we wanted to reach to all the people, not only the healthy people, but also with some disabilities. So we tried to [tell] them that they are part of this preparation, because they are really a big, important part for us.'
Anyone knowing sign language was invited to participate in this video, which displays the words not only in sign, but in various corporal acts of mercy displayed throughout the video.
While this is the first time they translated the song into sign language, they plan to offer this option for each subsequent video that is created, so everyone feels included while attending World Youth Day.

'The anthem song, it's called 'Blessed are the Merciful,' so the topic of the World Youth Day, the topic of the Mercy and the whole anthem song is about the mercy, so it perfectly matches what we want to share with the people.'
Religious sisters and Archbishop Józef Kupny of WrocÅ?aw also contributed to the video. The archbishop participated in a brief sign language course to further understand this form of communication and the sisters were filmed in their everyday life, while helping the sick.
This message is significant not only because of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, but because Saint Faustina and Saint John Paul II are of Polish decent, both of whom were instrumental in spreading Christ's mercy to the world.
