Completely relaxed, as if it were a normal activity, the Pope went on foot from his home to St. Peter's Square to join other priests who were hearing confessions of thousands of young people who came to the Jubilee of Adolescents.
The weekend was especially devoted to them and this was one of the main events.
With a stole over his shoulders, he sat amongst the other priests in simple chairs that were placed in the square under the colonnade. To the surprise of everyone, he heard the confessions of 16 teenagers in total.
One-hundred and fifty priests took turns hearing the confessions of about 70 thousand young people between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Pope Francis was present between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
Teenagers are people particularly important to the Pope. He accompanied them throughout their special Jubilee, even from the first hour, when he wrote them a tweet encouraging them to be brave and to go against the tide.
