Hundreds of pilgrims cross the Holy Door daily to earn the Jubilee of Mercy in this Holy Year. Among them, a family from Bilbao, Spain. They are taking the opportunity to visit Rome by celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary and their son's 18th birthday. They are also crossing something off of their bucket list.

They want to cross through the Holy Door. They have faith that being so close to its proximity will help them fix their problems and make them more tenderhearted, a feeling that they explain as a family.

JUAN CARLOS

'It is a symbolic gesture, as if to say, please give us a hand because we are miserable, that's why we go to your mercy.

It is about compassion, helping people, to forgive, it is best to thing do.'

Their family friends, two young students from Spain, who currently live Rome, led them to the Holy Door and, incidentally, took the opportunity to go through it as well.

DAVID

'I had not come to walk through the Holy Door because I always have something to do on the weekend, so it has been a great opportunity to visit and say: Hey, come on, let's go.  Besides the Pope's messages lately have really impacted me.

He has said very simple things, which were in the Gospel, that perhaps I had read a thousand times and had not truly understood their meaning. Then he made me think about many many things seriously and change things in my life.'

These five pilgrims were very attentive to the scripture of prayers that the Jubilee volunteers gave them in the last few steps before reaching the Holy Door. A creed, near the Tomb of St. Peter, culminated their way of mercy.
