Christ's entire life on Earth has been to stand together with men to demonstrate His compassion. This was the message that the Pope sent during the sunny general audience in St. Peter's Square.

'Jesus has not brought hatred, he has not brought enmity. He has brought love, a great love, open to all, for all of us.â?
He said that God, being perfect, wanted to stand in line with the sinners so they would not be afraid to confess their sins. Unlike man, he does not judge, but rather, forgives.
POPE FRANCIS
'How many times do we accuse others of being sinners. And you? Each of us should ask ourselves: if he is a sinner, then who am I? We are all sinners but we are all forgiven. We all have the ability to receive this pardon that is the mercy of God.'
The Pope invited people to accept their own sinfulness, not with shame or fear of feeling like a failure, but in the hope of a child who knows that his father will not hesitate to forgive him if asked.

'We should not fear our miseries. Each of us has them. The power of the love of the Crucifixion knows no obstacles and is never exhausted.'
Last week, the Pope had concluded a cycle of catechesis dedicated to explaining mercy in the Old Testament. This general audience begins a cycle centered around the New Testament.
