'Our team this year is weaving a Global solidarity for life. Our aim is always to help each other so that we can be more effective, more giving and witness religious life and consecrated life more in line with what is happening in the world.

She hopes to contribute to the goal of sharing global solidarity and opening new frontiers of support and leadership for the religious to serve as a voice of the Church and the world.

SR. CARMEN SAMMUT
UISG, President
'Where we want to head in the next few years is to be even more effective. First of all, even more effective in making religious life, apostolic life known.

The mission is simple, she explains that the first step is made by building bridges and narrowing the boundaries in order to create ways for members to be in communication, in community and in communion.

SR. CARMEN SAMMUT
UISG, President
'I believe very much in media because I think that it is very, very important. That people don't hear only bad news but they also realize that many people are doing different things in order to help the world be a better place.

Sister Sammut is Maltese by birth, yet she has spent over 28 years as a teacher in Algeria, Tunisia and Mauritania. A part of the world she also considers home.

She recognizes the urgent need to harness the full potential of her organization for the good of the Church and wider society.
