(ONLY VIDEO) On February 21, 2001, Pope John Paul II made the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio a cardinal. ;
It was the eighth of nine consistories for the creation of cardinals who called John Paul II. It was also the consistory in which most cardinals were created in the history of the Church, with a ;total 42.
For the ceremony, Cardinal Bergoglio used the same clothing as his predecessor, with the exception of a few adjustments tailored in his size.
