On Friday, Pope Francis explained in Santa Marta the meaning of true love. He said that love is not that of the soap opera, garnered by a quick flame, instead true love has always been created by God.
POPE FRANCIS
'Go to the Lord and say, 'But you know, Lord, that I love you'. Or if you do not feel it say: 'You know, Lord, that I would love you, but you know I am so sinful, so sinful'. And He will do what it has done with the prodigal son who spent all his money on vices, so he will not let you finish talking, with a hug will make you shut up. It is the embrace of God's loveâ?.
With the year of Mercy always present, Pope Francis reflected on compassion and said that the Lord anticipates our apologies.

'This word â??loveâ?? is a word that is used so many times and when we use it we donâ??t know exactly what it means. What is love? Sometimes we can think of the love in the soap operas but that doesnâ??t appear to be love. Or else love can seem like having a crush on a person but then it fades away. Where does true love come from? Whoever loves has been created by God because God is love. Don't say:â??Every love is God,â?? No, God is love.â?
'When we have something on our mind and we want to ask God to forgive us, itâ??s He who is waiting for us â?? to forgive us. This Jubilee Year of Mercy, to some extent, is also this: that we may know that our Lord is waiting for us, each one of us. Why? To embrace us. Nothing more. To say to us: son, daughter, I love you. I let my Son be crucified for you: this is the price of my love, this is the gift of my love.â?
