Pope Francis begins the first week of 2016 with a few but important events, especially from the liturgical point of view: the first will be on Wednesday, January 6th, held at the St. Peters' Basilica Feast of the Epiphany. It will be at 10am local time in Rome and will end with the recitation of the Angelus. There will not be a customary general audience meeting this Wednesday.

The second event on the list will be one of the most endearing taking place in the Vatican: Pope Francis will baptize several children in the Sistine Chapel on the feast of the Baptism of Christ. Recalling the moment that Jesus began his public life by preaching throughout the villages of Galilee, Samaria and Judea.

For Pope Francis, it is important for a Christian to know the date of their Baptism because it is the anniversary date of their entry into the Church. In fact, it is not uncommon for him to give out homework assignments related to important dates to his participants at various public events.
