On the day of his 79th birthday, Pope Francis approved the miracle that will make Mother Teresa a saint. Just 18 years after her death, the 'mother of the poor, as Saint John Paul II called her, will be raised to the altars.

Her great life has been brought to the big screen many times. Still, 'The Letters brings a unique version of Mother Teresa to views: It focuses on her loneliness.

'Inside, she was experiencing a terrible emptiness. No one knew about her feeling of isolation.

The film is largely based on letters between Mother Teresa and her spiritual adviser, the Jesuit priest Celeste Van Exem.

'The letters she wrote document a loneliness she endured over the period of six decades.

There are nearly 50 years of correspondence that tell how the famous nun lived long periods of spiritual difficulty. The letters had come to light during the process of beatification.

The movie was released a few weeks ago and features a cast of Academy Award Nominees and Golden Globe winners.
