This will be a busy week for Pope Francis, and also one filled with significant anniversaries.
On Wednesday the 16th, he'll hold his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square. Despite the cold weather, thousands of pilgrims are expected to attend.
Wednesday is also a sad anniversary in the Pope's life. It marks 52 years since the death of his mother, Regina Maria Sivori.
Pope Francis was one of the oldest men to ever be elected Pope. And he will become one full year older on Thursday, when he celebrates his 79th birthday. ;
On Friday, the Pope will start his weekend by opening a Holy Door for Charity. The event will take place at the Caritas hostel and soup kitchen at Rome's Termini rail station. ;
He will close the week by leading the Angelus prayer from the window of the study in the Apostolic Palace on Sunday.
