When Pope Francis opens the Holy Door on Tuesday, it will mark the start of the Jubilee of Mercy. It will also be the beginning of a very busy time for the Pope.
On Tuesday morning, he will celebrate Holy Mass for the Opening of the Holy Door in St. Peter's Basilica. A few hours later, he'll say the Angelus prayer while looking over St. Peter's Square.
The special Angelus prayer is for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which is celebrated every December 8th.
In the afternoon, the Pope will go to the Piazza di Spagna to pray before the statue of the Immaculate Conception and greet sick Romans.
On Wednesday morning, the Pope will greet thousands of pilgrims in St. Peter's Square during his weekly general audience.
From December 10th to 12th, the Pope will meet with the 'Council of Cardinalsâ? to discuss reforms of the Roman Curia.
On Saturday, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Pope will celebrate a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in memory of the Latin American people.
Sunday will seem a bit like Tuesday. The Pope will start his day with a Holy Mass for the Opening of the Holy Door. Except this time, it will take place at the Basilica of Saint John Lateran.
A few hours later, he'll finish his week by leading the Angelus prayer in St. Peter's Square.
It will be the first week of a year filled with events centered around the idea of mercy and reconciliation.
