The head organizer of the Jubilee of Mercy has presented the schedule of the Holy Year, and has presented the certificate for each person that passes through the Holy Door of Saint Peter. To do so, all participants must register on the official Jubilee website.
The Jubilee will begin on December 8 and last until November 20, 2016. During those months, the Pope will hold special meetings with pilgrims almost every weekend and will meet with private charitable organizations one Friday a month. This is to convey the following message:
ARCH. RINO FISICHELLA
Organizer, Jubilee of Mercy
'To propose a spirit of conversion for being able to put at the center of our lives the essence of the Gospel, that is mercy; and so becoming instruments of mercy.â?
The Vatican says that security measures are already in place for the pilgrims coming to Rome so that their pilgrimage will be completely safe and serene.
ARCH. RINO FISICHELLA
Organizer, Jubilee of Mercy
'We have every reason to believe that pilgrims who are coming to Rome will be safe. But obviously we will keep looking, just like the rest of the world.'
The Jubilee will begin on Tuesday with the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter. To celebrate, photographs from all over the world will be projected on the facade of the basilica during the evening.
