Pope Francis welcomed about 500 members of Italy's Pro-Life Movement, to the Vatican. In their audience, the Pope encouraged them to keep defending life in all its stages.
In the last ten years, the group has helped more than 170,000 pregnant women, many of them refugees and immigrants.
'We have been a field hospital for many immigrant women and refugees, also for their children in the womb or in their mother's arms.â?
The Pope called on them to continue their work and mission of protecting life, especially when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable.
POPE FRANCIS
'I encourage you to continue your work through the protection of life, from conception until natural death. Always keeping in mind the suffering some of our brothers and sisters face.â?
Protecting life, he added is not just about social service, but ultimately about protecting life all together. It means helping those who need it most, like disciples of Christ.
POPE FRANCIS
'It is necessary to strengthen personal and social sensibilities, so it can welcome new life. Especially in light of the circumstances of poverty, exploitation and disadvantage the most vulnerable face.â?
Before ending the audience, the Pope also thanked them for helping all types of people, regardless of their religion or nationality.
