Pope Francis has made marriage and family life the central theme of his general audiences. He has consistently advised families to make sure that God is at the center of their relationships.

'Make sure it's an authentic celebration, because marriage is a celebration. It's a Christian celebration, not a worldly one.

Few couples exemplify this idea better than Henry and Inez Casolani, a Maltese husband and wife born in the early 20th century.

Inez showed dedication to her faith from a young age, and was best known for her devotion to Eucharistic Adoration. A teacher by training, she offered private lessons to the poor throughout her life. She remained committed to her family, even as her health worsened with age.

Henry was a gifted artist and poet whose work focused on Catholic topics. He earned a living as a draftsman. People who knew him said he was a quiet introvert who nevertheless brought people together with humor. He was known for never speaking ill of his colleagues.

A few weeks ago, the Archbishop of Malta celebrated a Mass to mark the start of the diocesan process to consider them for beatification and canonization.

Now, nearly 200 people will give witness to the Tribunal that is weighing their case. They will also consider testimony from 60 people who have already passed away.

If they become saints, they'll join the parents of Saint Thérí¨se of Lisieux as another canonized married couple.
