(-VIDEO ONLY-) The following Bible passage was read during Wednesday's general audience, where Jesus says to His disciples: 'If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.'
In light of today's readings the Pope asked for forgiveness for the scandals of the Church.
POPE FRANCIS
'Jesus has strong words for us today. He warns the world about scandals. Jesus is a realist. He understands that scandals are inevitable, but he warns men and women of the causes of these scandals. Before starting today's catechesis, on behalf of the Church, I want to ask for forgiveness for the scandals of the Church,in recent times, be it in Rome or in the Vatican. I ask for forgiveness.â?
