For the second time in less than a year, Pope Francis met with the United Nation's Secretary General, Ban-Ki-Moon.

With the help of a translator, they talked many issues, but at the top of the list was the environment.

BAN KI-MOON
UN Secretary General
'It is required that we take some global action, particularly on climate change.â?

It's not the first time they've met, but it is the first time climate change has been the main focus. After greeting the Pope, Ban Ki-Moon addressed the Vatican's Pontifical Academy of Sciences, where he once again stressed the need to promote sustainable development and to mitigate climate change.

He went even further by describing it as the defining issue of our time. One that can influence  poverty, migration and food development.

The visit comes months before the UN heads an international conference on climate change at the end of the year in the city of Paris.

Furthermore, the Pope is expected to release an encyclical on the environment this summer. In fact on many occasions he has publicly called for Christians to protect and care for Mother Nature.

Before saying farewell, the Pope asked Ban Ki Moon for his prayers... adding that he already prays for him.

POPE FRANCIS
'I pray for you.

The Pope will meet with Ban Ki Moon again in September when the Pope visits the UN headquarters in New York City, during his visit to the U.S.
